Stem Cell and Differentiation Research Tissue Engineering and Organoids

Lab Info.

Functional Thin Films Lab (FTFL) is developing innovative thin film materials and structures using a new polymer deposition method called initiated chemical vapor deposition (iCVD). iCVD is a process capable of depositing functional polymer films with exceptional compositional control and uniformity. Additionally, the iCVD method does not damage substrates sensitive to heat and solvents, such as tissue culture polystyrenes, fabrics, and membranes. This solvent-free process provides biocompatible polymer coatings without damaging the substrates. Our lab is focusing on developing functional polymer coatings for stem cell culture and differentiation as well as tissue engineering.
