During embryogenesis, organ formation occurs through the precisely regulated division and differentiation of embryonic stem cells. The maintenance and regeneration of these organs are driven by tissue-specific adult stem cells. Understanding the functions and regulatory mechanisms of stem cells at each stage can provide key insights into organismal development. However, genetic mutations, physical injuries, and abnormal tissue environments can disrupt stem cell regulation, leading to degenerative diseases and cancer. Our research aims to discover novel strategies for treating various tissue-related diseases by modulating stem cell function. Through these efforts, we strive to extend human healthspan and develop treatments for intractable diseases.
